Music Friday
(Can that be a thing?)
I’m getting a late start today, but here are two music-related thoughts for you.
First: many thanks to everyone who filled out the survey I launched about a month ago about how (or if) you listen to music. If you haven’t had a chance to fill it out, but would like to spend 3(ish) minutes doing so, it would be extremely helpful.
—> TAKE THE SURVEY AT https://form.jotform.com/260408234345048
It’s entirely anonymous unless you want to be kept abreast of my findings, in which case you can include your email.
Second: When I’m not out there historianizing (if I may coin that word) I am usually in the throes of creating new music or working on something theatrical. Right now, it’s both — I’ve been working on an adaptation of Sophocles’s Antigone with an original score.
Today is Bandcamp Friday, so I’m releasing a “first look” single for you fine people to enjoy.
The single includes two tracks: Antigone (Main Title Theme) and Be Careful.
If you’re not familiar with Bandcamp Friday, it’s one of the few days each year when Bandcamp waives their fees—meaning every dollar spent goes directly to the artist.
For now, these two pieces are only available on Bandcamp, where you can:
Stream the tracks directly on the Bandcamp page
Listen on the Bandcamp app
Or buy the single for $2 and add it to your digital collection
Anyway, if you’d like a sneak peek at the music from this new project, today’s a great day to jump in.
Have a great weekend.
